Arts and Crafts Banner Exchange Network

Please review the following information before submitting your website information

1. Make sure you have an acceptable banner graphic

Every week, we receive about 50 applications for membership. Only about one-half are approved. A few are rejected due to objectionable content, being off-topic, or the site could not (or would not) install the simple HTML code fragment onto their page.

The vast majority of rejected applications were due to bad banner graphics. This includes banners that are off-size, or we could not access the banner online (invalid banner address).

We require banners to be no larger than 468 x 60 pixels in physical size, be less than 30,000 bytes in file size, and be in either jpg or gif file format.

We also must be able to access your banner graphic online. This means we must have a valid web address (url) for the graphic. It has to be the full web address, such as: http://www.thecountrygallery.net/banners/banex20.gif

If you are not absolutely certain of your banner size, type, or address, please visit our Graphics Page where we can show you exactly how to easily determine all of the above. If you apply for membership with an off-size banner or invalid address, the application will be deleted without notification. Sorry, we really do not have the time to follow-up on issues we try so hard to explain beforehand.

2.  Fill Out Our Online Sign Up Form

  • User ID: Any word you select up to 8 characters (no special characters, no spaces) used to identify your account. Write it down!

  • Password: Any letter combination you select up to 8 characters (no special characters, no spaces). Write it down!

  • Name: Your name

  • Email: Your email address - this will not be displayed anywhere, and is just for us to contact you

  • Site URL: The web address of the page people will be taken to when they click on your banner.

  • Site Title: For our use only, is not displayed anywhere

  • Banner URL: The URL or address of the banner to be displayed.

3.  Get HTML Code & Install

Once all the information is filled in properly, you should click the "next step" button at the bottom of the page. The system will take you to a page where you can copy a short fragment of HTML code to paste into your web page. This code will generate the banner displays (one at a time) on your page. If you just see a bunch of strange code and letters on your page instead of a banner, you did not install the code properly.

4.  Verification

Once you fill out the form, submit it, and install the HTML code into your page, we will need to verify your account before your banners will start being displayed on member sites. This is normally done every few days. If approved, we will send an email notifying you of activation.

5. Check Your Statistics (optional)

You may view up-to-the-minute statistics on how many banner impressions you have received, how many people clicked through on your banners and much more.  This is accessible via Member Stats. You will need the "User ID" and "password" you provided on the sign-up form.

Please Note:  When you check your statistics, you normally should not need  to use the "update" button at the bottom of the page. By clicking this button, we presume you have made some change to your account which requires our verification to become effective. The result is that activity on your account (banner displays) is suspended until we check it. Unless you are actually making a change, simply back out of the page or close the window without updating  having checked your stats.

The Number 1 Most Frequently Asked Question: Where can I see my banner displayed?  If you have credits, your banner will be displayed on member sites on a ROTATING basis. This means it is not shown permanently on any one site, but is shown in rotation with other member banners on other members' web pages. Your banner is never shown on your own web site as that would be redundant.
